A nice stay, average food and room for improvement but a nice stay all the same

Nice enough room. Reception staff mainly were fine. Sunbeds in the beach / garden are lovely. Location was good bearing in mind (we had a car). Overall a nice stay

Nice enough room although facing the bins at the rear was not great. Sunbeds by jungle pool very uncomfortable. Hot jacuzzi turned off at night so cold in the mornings. Food (both breakfast and dinner) fine, you would not say bad, but you'd probably choose somewhere else night 2 like we did. All in all a nice stay, but they need help and advice setting this place up to be very good

The breakfast. Terrible. Sometimes depends of the time was not enough food. Poor options to call it buffet. Was a better breakfast when they had menu. Even in pandemic the food was better.

Enjoyable but could have been better.

Liked the location, amenities and overall service.

Had to move my room due to maintenance which seems the staff didn’t communicate well since it was after check in time, went with my family to the room and the staff was working on the a/c. Then when we get assigned another room my son gets stuck inside the bathroom since the door was not working properly and when reported took too long for the staff to come fix which I was able to get my son out myself. The restaurant service was very slow but besides that overall good.

Danasha, from the staff make the difference on our trip! She was amazing since the moment we arrived!

Very nice location close to the beach

We had an inconvenience when we arrived, we booked a deluxe superior room with a king bed, however they assigned us a room with 2 beds and mentioned we should specify in the reservation we need need 1 bed ( no make sense if i choose this previously), after sone conversations with the manager and keeping my position and didn’t accept the room the assigned, they finally give us the right room with 1 bed for my husband and I.

Good for sleeping.

The location is great and had stayed before and had a great experience.

Is very dirty in general and there’s no care in common areas. Is very unfortunate that they have stop caring to uphold their good reputation. The gardens look terrible like no one cares. Is definitely not wat used to be.

Wonderful

The location is perfect. The beach is gorgeous and private. The room nestled in the rain forest with a balcony is very tranquil. The staff is very helpful and polite. I have enjoyed my time here and will be back.

My door key was difficult. It took almost multiple tries every time to get it open. The sheets are old...although clean, some have stains.

All in all we had a wonderful stay, we even had the president of Costa Rica staying a noght at the hotel!

The hotel was really cute, with different pools and a nice breakfast. The restaurant with entertainment at night was also really good. The room was beautiful with a view on a lush garden with sloths, parrots, tucans…etc the staff was just wonderful, helpful and super friendly. Bog up to the manager and the great entertainer Klaus????

The surroundings next to the beach area could be ‚cleaner‘ and tidier, the tiles on the floor for example but i am being picky!

Lovely relaxing place to get away from it all.

The hotel is one of the nicest in the area. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the setting of the jungle is beautiful and the rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Gigi’s restaurant has a really good menu and the food is tasty and high quality. The hotel has several pools and a beach club that is a perfectly chilled out place to relax so there is something for everyone. I would highly recommend.

The hotel is about 3k outside of Puerto Viejo so if you want lots of restaurants and bars close by, this is not the case.

I am so grateful to the amazing staff, had the best BD and would go back there tomorrow!

I loved the mosquito nets and AC in the room. The ambiance is stunning! Beautiful view from the ocean side rooms. Food is really good... we actually didn't go out and kept eating at the restaurant.

I didn't like the mold smell... after a thorough cleaning was great, but after a day the mold smell was profound. I understand that in this super humid weather is impossible to avoid it.

Great location, nice breakfast and comfortable rooms.

Some furniture is old. I was charged of $18 for a peanuts bag. (Quite expensive) so be careful

Awesome

It’s my favorite place in Puerto Viejo, so always I can I stay there.

The deluxe room I got was nice, but was a bit I will not abandone, but you can start seeing that they might need to start some reparations since there were stains in the bathroom and some mold on the walls, the only thing I didn’t like was that as soon as we enter the room one of the pillows had stains on it, it’s something you won’t expect from Le Cameleon. I know they have expanded their grounds, but I urged them to start thinking on some parking for the cars hopefully where the sun doesn’t hit the cars directly all day.

Very Good

Service staff were excellent. Pool was great. Loved the classes and activities offered.

The idea of an all white room in the jungle is a little difficult in practice and room often looked dirty even though the cleaners were excellent. The prices were outrageously expensive. We stayed two weeks and it was 3k. I needed to extend for another two weeks and we were told the best they could do was 5k. I'm sorry what? The food was boring. Especially breakfast. The exception to that is the juice shots that were available everyday. That was interesting and fun. But the fruit offerings considering it's a tropical lush location were uninspired. It was watermelon, pineapple, and either papaya or cantaloupe. Never changed never had more. The juices for sometimes good and sometimes absolutely awful. They made a fresh orange everyday which was always reliable then one other. In the two weeks that I was there, the second juice was outstanding maybe four times. The rest of the time I would take a sip and then put it down. Lunch and dinner were equally boring. Their menu does not have great variety and it's really expensive. Dinner there for more than a couple nights was hard. They do have a really cool dance show on Saturday night. That's definitely worth checking out. As for the hotel the pool was great, staff are really cool. One of my biggest issues stems from the fact that the hotel itself didn't seem like it had tried to integrate with the surrounding community. I asked several times for recommendations or for questions about different guides and they only had like one person that they can recommend and it was someone that was inordinately expensive for what they were offering. And when I gave him that feedback afterwards they had no idea that he was way out priced. I just feel like they dropped their hotel down in the middle of a established community and then didn't bother to find out anything about that community. Which is a shame because it's a really cool community.

The location and beach front restaurant and pool are amazing. We also loved our tour to Manzanillo with Jungle Man - highly recommend

Room was incredible, staff were amazing, absolutely enjoyed my stay. They also had daily events that you could partake it, was absolutely incredible!

There were 2 days where the wifi was incredibly spotty, affected work meetings!
